Short answer: a turnkey pool in Torrevieja costs from €11,000 for 6×3 m and from €16,500 for 8×4 m in 2026, with excavation, the reinforced concrete shell, waterproofing, tiling, filtration, lighting and the plant room included. The town hall adds its licence charges on top, about €1,150–1,400 for these sizes. Building takes four to six weeks once the licence is granted. Below are three pools we have built in Torrevieja and what each size costs today.
What is included in the price
Our turnkey price covers excavation, the reinforced concrete shell, waterproofing, the tiled finish, skimmer filtration with a sand filter, underwater lighting, the plant room and commissioning. We also prepare the technical project and file the licence. Quoted separately: the terrace around the pool, retaining walls if the plot needs them, and the municipal charges.
| Pool size | Turnkey price 2026 | Water surface | On site |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6×3 m | from €11,000 | 18 m² | 4–6 weeks |
| 8×4 m | from €16,500 | 32 m² | 5–6 weeks |
| 10×5 m | €19,000–20,000 | 50 m² | 6 weeks |
Example 1: a 6×3 m ceramic-tiled pool in El Chaparral

The most common size on Torrevieja plots. A 6×3 m pool fits a typical garden in El Chaparral, Los Balcones or La Torreta and still leaves room to walk around it. This one has a ceramic finish.
- Pool, turnkey: from €11,000
- Town hall: ICIO at 4% of the budget, about €440, plus the licence fee, €718.45 in recent Torrevieja pool licences: about €1,160
Example 2: an 8×4 m pool in El Chaparral

The size for families who actually swim lengths, or for a villa that is rented out in summer. It needs a larger plot and space for the plant room.
- Pool, turnkey: from €16,500
- Town hall: about €660 of ICIO plus €718.45 of licence fee: about €1,380
Example 3: a 5×3 m pool in La Torreta

A compact pool for a small garden or a patio. Below 6×3 m the price does not fall in proportion to the size: excavation, the plant room, filtration and the licence cost almost the same, and access to the plot matters more than the metres of water. We quote these sizes after the site visit.
- Pool, turnkey: quoted after the visit
- Town hall: 4% ICIO on the budget plus the licence fee
The licence in Torrevieja
In Torrevieja a pool is granted as a major works licence (licencia de obra mayor) with a technical project. The council’s published minutes show what it charges: for example, a private pool in El Chaparral paid €302.80 of ICIO on a €7,570 budget plus €718.45 of fee, and another licence settled in 2025 paid €687.80 on €17,195 plus the same fee, €1,406.25 in total. The licence lapses after six months without works and must be completed within 24 months. Full details in pool licences in Alicante and Murcia.
Common extras
- Terrace and paving: from €120–130 per m². A 20 m² terrace around the pool is about €2,400–2,600.
- Heat pump: from €2,000, to swim from spring to autumn. See heat pumps for pools.
- Salt system with automatic pH control: from €900.
Timeline
The licence takes from a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on the council’s workload. Building then takes four to six weeks on site. Signing in autumn or winter is what puts a pool in use for the start of the season.
What it costs once it is built
An 8×4 m pool costs roughly €1,200–1,800 a year to run if you look after it yourself: electricity for filtration, chemicals and top-up water at Torrevieja’s tariff. The breakdown, and how to bring it down, is in how much it costs to run a pool in Spain.
